We have enough food to make it through the next two weeks, right?

Yep.

We have enough paper towels and toilet paper?

Yep

Bacon and booze?

Well, we probably have a lot more than we need for two weeks, but ha. We can gift it.

Water?

Plenty

Gas for the generators?

10 gallons should get us through the next two weeks.

All the years of gifted schwag.. necklaces and blinkie things so we feel good, light things so we aren’t dark terds?

Yep

Got this year’s Gifts?

Of course. We even have fruit and ice cream!

Ice?

Ha we can always get ice, plus it’s always fun to hang out in the long line. Remember Barker Colonel Sanders who was telling us all about the new ice McNuggets? Classic.

Yea we aren’t leaving this city for a while. I don’t think we forgot anything. Glad we have an awesome Camp. Can’t wait to hang with all our friends.

Once the event begins, you quickly learn to put your mask and goggles in the same place so they’re easy to locate if you’re going out. The Hand sanitizer is near the water source. All the essentials in one place, every time so they’re easy to find no matter how weird it gets. Don’t be careless and take care of yourself. Stay hydrated, take care of any wounds you might suffer, however small they are. This environment can be brutal.

Things are getting wild out there. Be careful tonight. Don’t get run over. Avoid dark energy. It isn’t worth it.

When that first dust storm hits, we’re all equalized. We’re all in the same boat riding it out. Masks, Goggles… lost in the storm or hunkering down. Your trailer quivering with the wind gusts, your tent flapping manically with sand pounding down shaking up your little TAZ. Those conversations during the storms about how nature is final arbitrator and damn, she doesn’t fuck around, they stick with you.

But the storm eventually passes and all is wonderful again. The sky opens up with eternal blue as far as you can see and you can breathe deeply again. You can remove the mask and goggles .All storms pass. That’s just how it is.
